COVID-19 Update

May 2023 Update – Back to “normal”

We no longer require that masks be worn in the clinic. You are certainly welcome to do so if you prefer and we do request that masks be worn if you have respiratory symptoms or have been exposed to someone that has tested positive for COVID-19.

Washtenaw County Public Health Department is recommending the following to help keep COVID-19 cases low;

  • Get vaccinated
  • Wear a mask if you have symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with a positive test
  • Test if you have symptoms or 5 days after an exposure
  • Cover coughs and sneezes
  • Wash hands often

Curbside service is still available upon request. Prescription diets and medication refills can be delivered to your car for contact-free pickup if elected. Most foods and medications can be delivered directly to your home using our online store

Thank you again for trusting us with your beloved feline companions!

Starting our second year with the COVID 19 pandemic

This time last year, it was unimaginable to think we might still be curbside for spring of 2021. We know it is frustrating for our clients. Please understand that we are doing our best to follow guidelines and keep you and our staff safe and healthy.  Many of our clients and some staff members are now vaccinated against COVID 19. According to the CDC, vaccines significantly reduce the risk of getting sick from the virus, however, they are still recommending precautions.

As per the CDC website, If you’ve been fully vaccinated:

You should still take steps to protect yourself and others in many situations, like wearing a mask, staying at least 6 feet apart from others, and avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces.

For the safety of you, your families, and our staff, we continue to follow curbside protocols:

  • Bring your cat to the clinic in a carrier and call when you arrive
  • We will arrange to transport your cat into the clinic while you wait in your car
  • The doctor will call to discuss exam findings and options for diagnostics and treatment

For prescription diets or medication refills, we can arrange contact-free pickup. Alternately, try our online store to have supplies delivered directly to your home. * Please note that we have had to limit the volume of foods sold per client due to backorders and limited supply.

We have begun allowing clients to accompany their cats for euthanasia if they meet certain criteria. If you see a client coming in or leaving, please understand that they are likely saying goodbye to their beloved friend.

Please DO NOT come to the clinic if:

  • You have symptoms of or have been diagnosed with COVID-19
  • You have had close contact with someone that is positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days

Appointments

  • Appointments continue to take extra time due to extended cleaning and communication requirements. These delays translate to reduced numbers of cases being seen each day and make it harder for us to catch up on routine visits.
  • We will likely have a 3-6 week delay in scheduling annual exams.
  • Please call well in advance so we can best accommodate any time constraints you may have.

As always, we save a few appointments each day to fit in urgent cases. We can also work in a couple of less urgent cases as drop-off appointments. Nonetheless, we do tend to fill up. At the risk of ‘burning out’ our dedicated and hard-working staff, we sometimes do have to refer good clients to another clinic. For this, we are truly sorry.

Thank you again for trusting us with your beloved feline partners, and, Stay Safe!
